19_May_2015: The Clean Energy Initiative of The Pew Charitable Trusts has released a report highlighting global trends in electricity investment. The report, titled 'Power Shifts—Emerging Clean Energy Markets,' finds that investment in electricity infrastructure is shifting from industrialized countries to the developing world and from fossil fuels to clean energy. The report projects that renewables will account for 54% of new global power capacity over the next 15 years. continued...

13_May_2015: The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report, titled 'World Health Statistics 2015,' which compiles data from 194 member States and summarizes progress made towards achieving the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and associated targets. WHO reports that, by the end of 2015, the world is likely to achieve the MDGs for HIV, malaria, tuberculosis and drinking water access.
