The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) are jointly convening the 2014 CIF Partnership Forum, hosting more than 400 participants from civil society, the private sector, governments, indigenous peoples and academia. A special pre-conference event on 22 June, 'Stakeholder Day,' will be dedicated to discussing progress and challenges in engaging key stakeholders in the CIF's activities. During the conference, panels will address a variety of topics including managing climate change programs and unlocking private finance from mini-grids to REDD+. The CIF is the world's largest group of funds for climate action, channeling $8 billion to low carbon and climate resilient development. On 25 June, a field trip will take place.

In accordance with UN General Assembly resolution 68/1, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will hold a humanitarian affairs segment from 23-25 June 2014. The Council will also hold a special event to discuss the transition from relief to development, to be convened immediately preceding the humanitarian affairs segment and following the annual session of the executive boards of the funds and programmes of the United Nations system.

The 22nd Session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO 22) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) will review the state of the world's forests, focusing on their socioeconomic benefits. Specific topics addressed will include forest policy measures that promote sustainable production and consumption; access to resources, markets and financing; equitable benefit sharing; and valuation of forest products and services. Other agenda items include progress in implementing earlier decisions and FAO program priorities under its new Strategic Framework. The meeting will take place in conjunction with World Forest Week.

The second and final preparatory meeting (PrepCom) for the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) will take place from 23-27 June 2014, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, according to a draft decision approved in the UN General Assembly's (UNGA) Second Committee on 11 December 2013 (A/C.2/68/L.67). The SIDS Conference is scheduled for 1-4 September 2014, in Apia, Samoa.
