Africa Regional Workshop

The Africa Regional Workshop of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is expected to take place from 30 June - 1 July 2014, in Windhoek, Namibia, immediately prior to the Africa Carbon Forum.

2014 Substantive Session of ECOSOC

The 2014 substantive session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will include a High-level Segment, as well as the second meeting of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The HLPF meeting - taking place on 30 June-3 July - will include a three-day ministerial segment, and is expected to adopt a negotiated declaration. The ECOSOC High-level Segment will take place on 7-11 July, with 7-9 July devoted to the HLPF.

Second Session of High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)

The second meeting of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will take place in conjunction with the 2014 substantive session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), from 30 June-3 July, with a three-day ministerial segment from 7-9 July. The theme for the 2015 Forum will be 'Achieving the Millennium Development Goals and charting the way for an ambitious post-2015 development agenda, including the sustainable development goals'.

18th Meeting of the CMS Scientific Council

The 18th Meeting of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) Scientific Council (ScC18) will take place from 1-3 July 2014.

Sub-regional Workshop on Reporting Obligations under the Basel and Stockholm Conventions

This training is being organized by the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions in cooperation with the Basel and Stockholm Convention Regional Centre in Dakar, Senegal, with funding provided by the Government of Norway and the European Union. The training aims to enhance understanding of the reporting obligations of the parties to the Basel and Stockholm Conventions, inform participants about the use of the electronic reporting systems for both Conventions and facilitate exchange of experiences among participants.
