AfDB Holds Training on Climate Change, Energy and Transport
12 June 2012: Supported by International Development UEA and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia (UK), the African Development Bank (AfDB) held a staff training course on climate change, energy and transport.
The seminar focused on: climate change issues and their implications for AfDB's work and investment decisions in the areas of energy and transport; and how AfDB can address climate change effectively in its programming and decision making in these areas. Participants discussed this issue in the context of AfDB's vision for green growth and the need for energy and transport decisions that deliver significant development benefits, as well as address global climate change.
The seminar was held on 26-27 April 2012, in Tunis, Tunisia, following two general courses on climate change for AfDB senior management in October 2011 and a course on Climate Change, Agriculture and Natural Resources held in January 2012. [AfDB Press Release and Meeting Presentations]
