UNESCO Supports Preparation of Water Education Material

4 October 2011: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Cairo office supported the preparation of water education material for school students aimed at raising school students' awareness towards rational use, conservation and protection of water resources in the Arab region.

The material covers the upper elementary, intermediate and secondary school age groups, and aims to promote the concept of sustainable development. The project, which will be completed by the end of October 2011, includes the development of: case studies, short novels, attractive narrative and dialogues; and 2-D 'Still Image Cartoons' that aim to be converted to 'e-learning style' using still images or illustrations to raise the levels of "water ethics literacy" amongst school students.
